AFRICA CANTAT FESTIVAL
Celebrating the diversity of African music with the choral world
AFRICA CANTAT is the largest choral music festival on the continent. Held every three years in an African country, the festival, initiated by the African Confederation of Choral de Music is a unique experience at the heart of the African continent, a space for re-creating, learning and disseminating the musical riches of authentic Africa.
A place of excellence for celebrating the diversity of choral expression and the originality of African repertoires, the AFRICA CANTAT offers a meeting place for choral music players from Africa and around the world.
Inspired by the EUROPA CANTAT festival, launched after the 2nd World War with the idea of bringing together people from different countries and cultures for a week to sing together, exchange across cultural divides, share and disseminate their choral heritage.
